Default Re: Would players go for this Rebuy / add on Structure?

[ QUOTE ]
Buy in $10/ T1000, Rebuys $10/ T1000, Add on $20 / T2000

Rebuys up until the end of Round 3 and then the option to purchase the add on. I'll create an appropriate blinds structure but I've never done an add on so I'm wondering if this would work. Typically everyone has the add on price the same as the buy in and rebuys.

Looks good to me but as with most things home poker, it depends a little on your player base. I can see how some casual players may dislike the structure if they don't bring enough buy-ins.

In general, more skilled/serious players are going to like any add on that is neutral or positive in terms of chips/buy-in. Casual players tend not to pay attention to the structures until the rebuy/add-on period ends and often feel like they get the short shrift.

From a prize pool perspective, I've found that the number of casual players I've lost when I've run add-on tourneys is not made up by the additional add-ons. YMMV though. You might try it out a for a week or start some sort of a rotation in your tourneys where you run freeze-outs one week and rebuys/add-ons on another.
