Are you kidding me? He called a 1/3 PSB. His range is not exactly sets and flush draws only. He could be calling with 99 and hoping to get to showdown for all we know. His lead could also easily be a "it's obvious you have one pair, now lay it down" bluff attempt.

This is why I like the line the OP took, provided he checks turn and check/calls river.
If you bet more/push you're going to be way behind when you get called.
