Default Re: Flat call on river with \"2nd nuts\"??

[ QUOTE ]
any decent player does not flat call this river, tough luck thats all.

As for CardSharpCook, he finds the need to be witty and force sarcastic humor in everyone of his posts.
He achieves neither

This hand is indicative of a young player who hasn't yet learned the difference btwn bad beat and bad play. This tpye of player will focus on big hands in which they lose a lot of money with a good hand. This typically isn't where unprofitable errors are made. Learning PF standards, when to value bet weak hands on the river, and how to extract the most profit in a multiway pot are all things which SHOULD be in a young player's mind. The posts and questions these players should be asking should concern these areas of play (and I'm sure other things I'm neglecting as well). "Did I put in too much action with the 2nd nuts" isn't indicative of a player who is thinking about the game in a profitable way. This is an obvious and easy hand. I GARUANTEE you that OP played a dozen hands more interesting and more indicative of holes in one's game than this hand could ever be.

While I frequently try to be witty, the post earlier in this thread is not an example of that. Also, sarcastic humor is a rather small part of my comedic repetoire. It seems likely that you are misunderstanding the tone of my posts. It ain't humor, it is impolite honesty designed to reassure this player that "no, you don't need to give this hand a second thought." and also to say, "dude, if you're looking to improve your game, you are currently going about it the wrong way."
