I still don't think this is a scam. But I think it's shady for sure.
It seems to me that the Vigs (two different people who are what they say) had a big fight because Mr. was a huge dick to her for some reason. Vig has also been slacking on getting her the donation money for the cancer she does actually have. Mrs. decided to be a beyotch about it and take their fight public.
Now they're not living together anymore, she took the kid and won't let him see her. It's kind of a white-trashy Jerry Springer fight. She wants to take the money, get her treatment, and get on with her life without this douchebag zero. And now he's trying to worm his way out of this mess by saving his rep. But yet he's holding back the $$ as punishment for her dumping him.
No clue about the gambling problem.
