In California the officer is trained and tested to be able to accurately estimate speed. The officer's gross estimate of your speed + the radar gun's precise estimate is much stronger than the word of the camera alone.

I don't know how much weight you can give to such gross estimates. You can't just be charged with "speeding". They have to show you were going X mph over the speed limit.
