Some good stuff there, but to be honest I think that the styles that you are recommeding here require a pretty well put-together pretty fashion-forward overall style to pull off without looking silly. I suspect this is not quite the shoe level Bruiser is at right now. I had a couple of Fluevogs in the shoe shopping thread I linked that are similar in nature. I do like some of those Kowalskis quite a bit.

I agree with these sentiments for the most part. I would like to add that this look is so very European. I don't know what you look like Bruiser, but Chuck Taylors are still somewhat hot right now and a low cut white pair would do well with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Also, a few pairs of deisel shoes would do you well.
