Re: WPT Paris, worth going?
Paris = awesome. My brother lives there, so I've had the opportunity to go a few times. Worth going to WPT Paris just for the trip.
Aviation club is only average, I think... I was there in December when I was visiting my brother. The EFOP (European Finals of Poker) was just ending, so I played in a 100 Euro NLHE event. The structure sucked 20 min levels (IIRC), short stacks to begin with, etc... It was a crapshoot. I ended up being about 80th out of 200 runners - JJ vs AA, AIPF to cripple me.
The 'casino' itself is a private club, very smoky, and very small. I didn't play anything other than the tourney, but it looked like there were some pretty good poker games going.
Summary: Paris is awesome - go for sure. If the WPT structure is better than the EFOP structure was, you're gonna have a blast.
Edit: Not private in the sense that you have to be a member or anything, just that you have to check in at the door with a passport, dress the part, etc...
