Interestingly, the price has gone up from $150 to $250 in the last year and a half. Apparently there is a shortage of older-vintage stuff. So maybe it
will go up more...
It does sound like this is gonna be more like an old Balvenie or Macallan as opposed to an old Laphroaig or Lagavulin.
So if what you really love is peat, maybe hold off and try a bit more to trade. Have you tried craigslist? Or maybe some sort of scotch club or something, there must be something like that in LA.
