Default Re: Best place to play live PLO

Live Pot limit omaha in the U.S. has not taken off that much. I just talked to a dealer who was visiting from vegas and he said his casino rarely has any PLO (although its a casino not noted for its poker).

In Greektown Detroit there is a 5-10 PLO usually bumped to 10-25 twice a week. I have even played it at 25-50 a few times late in the night. My feeling at this point- is that omaha is a specialized game for action junkies and 'serious' players who like a change of pace from hold em. You need a solid base of regulars to ensure the game is continuous and doesn't break up.

One thing I am noticing in games around here is that the stakes are getting a little bigger. 2 years or so ago the largest stakes were 2-5 blinds. Then they bumped from 2-5 blinds to 5-10. A few weeks ago they started running a daily 10-20 NL game. I would imagine for high stakes you need to have home games or go to vegas because not many players have that type of bankroll for 25-50 and up.

Another option is home games. Around here they typically have 5-10 blinds and are mixed games with omaha and no limit. So maybe you can start a home game if you are not near any cardrooms.
