Default Re: Windsor Casino in Canada

If you're going for a weekend, don't stay in the casino, they offered double occupancy for $249, and only had like 3 rooms left at noon of the day we wanted to stay over. We stayed at the travelodge down the street (4 minute walk if you go left out the main entrance of the casino and walk along the riverfront) and it was $99 for double occupancy, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

The 3/6 limit is a senior citizen rock garden like paperjam said. If you cap preflop in position with a drawing hand and hit people will seriously get mad at you.

If they get a 5/10 limit game going, its slightly looser and more aggressive.

Never seen 10/20 limit.

They get a 10/20 NL uncapped going on some Fridays and Saturdays, and a $500 MTT on the last friday of every month, and other than that you mostly see 2/5 NL 200 max, and 1/2 NL 100 max. I've never played the 200 max, because 50 BB > 40, and the 100max NL is sufficiently juicy. Biggest cash I've ever had there is $1650, and you'll see an open raise to $20 and like 5 callers, so shove your monsters and don't try to squeeze in less than optimal situations, because people will cold call a $20 PFR and then call all in to a push behind them for their entire stack with marginal hands such as AJo. The best part about Windsor Casino 100 max is if you bet a flush draw, no one will ever believe you have it when it comes, and will pay you off with a hand as weak as TPGK.

In terms of nightlife, there are strip clubs and about 30 bars all within walking distance of the casino, and they are absolutely packed on weekends with Canadian and American students alike. The city smells wierd and is pretty dumpy, but its a fun place to go for a weekend.

Greektown and to a lesser extent MCC are absolute dumps, and I will never set foot in either of them again. They smell terrible, are dirty, and are full of complete scumbags. You're way better off going to Windsor, and I still have my fingers crossed on Detroit eventually sinking into the river or something. That city sucks.
