having never before used excel, i was able to properly setup a votecounting spreadsheet in just a few minutes. column A is just [ and C is ], put the countif stuff in B, everyone's name in D, the word "votes" in E and who they vote for in F. then the countif stuff for B looks like =countif(D1,F1:F9) or something like that
