One, your claim was about Apple shareholders, not Microsoft. Doubling in 2 years is hardly "pissing away" value. Two, how many fewer devices will Apple sell if they change the name to blahblahPhone (or how many devices will Cisco sell by keeping the name)? I know these are difficult concepts.
