I wasn't suggesting you engage in pirating or cracking games. A no-cd patch just allows you to play a game you legally own without inserting the CD every time.

Game Jackal even lets you set parental controls specifying what times the game is available to be played. It generates its own patch, so you won't have to poke around any iffy sites looking for a premade one.
It is by no means pirating or cracking software. It just does what you want to do with a game for which you already paid.
