Your hand is too good to fold, and there's a SLIGHT CHANCE that one of your opponents may recognize this move as a pure squeeze play and actually call/isolate with much less than a premium hand. Since you are ahead of any non-pocket-pair and there's overlay in the pot - preflop push is a no-brainer here.
I might try stop-n-go with two people if my hand was something like no-gap suited connectors and I flopped a decent combo draw . With 8's chances are that the flop will hit at least one of your opponents better than you are just too big.

I agree on most of what you said, but I can't help but correcting a very common misconception of the SnG (which I bolded). The Stop 'n' Go is by definition not dependent on the flop. You move in on any flop.
If you call to see a flop, it's not a Stop 'n' Go
