His thesis is that revolution is impossible in this country. I think this is the question to be discussed. Whether or not revolution is
necessary is a different (also important) question for a different thread.
My own take: He focuses on violent revolution, which significantly limits his conclusions. Then again, I'm not sure what a nonviolent revolution would look like. I also think he underestimates the rapidly improving communications technology, which would allow people to 'gather' no matter where they are physically located. Just my .02
