I'd rather let him 3-bet all in as a 2:1+ dog, on the flop, or make a big mistake calling a large raise. If you just call the flop, his turn bet might not be as big as your flop raise, and he's a lot more likely to drop his hand on the turn. Furthermore, we have no guarantees that he bets again on the turn, and it's also pretty tough to fold this if a diamond hits.

Not to mention there's still another guy to act, who might come in and give him better odds/increase the chance you get outdrawn.
