Not sure which Patton projects you are referring to(some of them have been better than others), but I have to say that anything Patton has done is 100 times more original and creative than Wolfmother, regardless if you think it sucks or not. I'll take a creative effort that fails commerically over a slick rehash anyday. Patton has made his name off of his own sound rather than by recreating a well known classic sound.
I still have no problem with anyone digging Wolfmother, I just believe Patton deserves credit for doing his own thing at all times.
