It's not mandatory, you should know you have to mix up your play in this kind of spot a lot. I agree bet the river, if you think he won't pay off with worse hands you are not playing aggressive enough.

making thin value bets is not a problem i have as a convert from HU NLHE and LHE, it's cost me a lot of money ridding myself of this in PLO.
