People that say that embryonic stem cell research has no promise don't know what they are talking about (and in particular for neuronal adult stem cells do not). Specifically diseases like Parkinson's and Multiple Sclerosis are great candidates for stem cell treatment. Spinal cord injury I think is probably a lot further away if it will ever be able to be cured.
