I was sitting at a blackjack table in Vegas when this guy went to split 10's. This little old lady looks at him and says "If you had a 12 inch [censored] would you split that too?"
10-10 vs 6 has an EV of +.70 when you stand and when you split your ev is +.47. So you still win more then you lose when you split, but not as much as you would for just standing.
