Agree with you about Alexei's love of gamling but he certainly liked to win. I just think he wasn't that into the money after the fact. I mean maybe for a day or two it gave him a high, but he seemed to just give it away.

Interesting observation that everyone had recently been granted a title. I guess I didn't pick up on that.

Completely agree with you. I was hoping others would tell us if this was typical of Dostoevsky's style to leave things sort of unresolved or if it was uncharacteristically vague due to his weird contract and time constraints.
