i don't understand the theory behind you must raies your sb everytime. hence, preflop is fine, you have sc and odds to call.
i also really don't mind that river play, you can have a king here and i dont' think he's got a king here very often- or a pocket pair >9s, or a randon 8- but if he's got A8hh, he's obv looking you up.
