If I were the friend and my roommate suddenly gave me $200 out of nowhere to go gambling, this is exactly what I'd be afraid of. How many guys give out gambling money to guys (or girls) they don't plan to sleep with? Maybe guys don't have to worry about that, though. I dunno. I can only advise from my own perspective, and obviously, as a female, if somebody was suddenly giving me money to hang out with him, I'd be super-duper paranoid about what he was after.
