If I am going to play poker, I prefer to go alone. If there is a long wait for a seat, a non poker playing friend can be busted out and ready to leave before you get a seat. Unless you are a hit and run artist, when you go to play poker, you will be there a while.

I assume we are talking about a day trip, go play a few hours and head back home.

Bankrolling a losing player is -EV. If he can't stay away from Blackjack on his own, you are not doing him a favor encouraging him to go to a casino.
