Re: Learning Spanish
- berlitz / other CD+language guide which teaches basic conversational spanish
- another guide which focuses on writing, vocabulary and grammar
- intermediate language classes somewhere
- go to a spanish speaking area.
I was in italy last month and tried not speaking english; I learnt pretty much everything out of a phrasebook and it worked fine, but it was frustrating talking in fractured phrases and poor grammar. I really think the DIY kits, followed by evening classes, followed by immersion are best.
Mum wants to learn Latin American Spanish, so I'll bump this when she gets started. I offered to "language spar" with her on the phone to get her talking it.
