Checking the flop felt wrong at the time because it almost guaranteed that Villain would c-bet, which almost guaranteed that Hero would fold - which therefore raised the question of why call t150 pre-flop if Hero was just going to C/F anyway on the flop if an A/K or big-draw didn't materialize.
