This is a good point. Make sure you know what you're getting into. Know that it's a reasonably large responsibility and not just picking up dogshit. This is another life depending on you. You have to think about it when you want to be out all night or go away for the weekend. It's not quite like having a kid, but there are definite real similarities. Please make sure it's right for you and don't be one of those people whose dog ends up at the shelter because it's a drag on their lifestyle.
