Good post and solid advice

I still don't believe the calls on hard copy requirements, I think some of these organizational leaders worked in Congressional offices 5-10+ years ago and aren't fully up on recent shifts in trends. 95%+ of all communication now received on the Hill (non-phone) is via email, it is taken just as seriously as a fax. It is true that the "little old lady" letters still tend to pull more weight, but as stated security screenings delay physical mail several weeks.

The key is ensuring you actually write something in your own words, tie it in locally and personally, and not use a form letter.
