It's like my entire leg muscle gets as tight as it possibly can and feels like it's going to pop out of my leg. Last night, though, it lasted a good two minutes (I really freaked my wife out shooting out of bed and grabbing my leg). Today, it's still kind of cramped up. Are you a teenager? Sounds like growing pains to me. I went through them from about ages 14-17.
If you immediately jump out of bed and stand on the leg that is in pain, it will go away much quicker.
