Ok, in all seriousness (sorry) I'm down with every aspect of this story except one. How does OP not become awakened until all this is over? I've never had to rescue a drowning man in the middle of the night. But I have lived with plenty of roommates (that is ugly to type). I'm pretty sure that if some fraction of us were trying to rescue a dying person, it would be SOP to go ahead and wake up everyone in the house.
