There are some benefits of keeping certain players alive for table dynamics but you didn't mention that. Another approach is to accumulate chips early but how much emphasis should be place in that versus eliminating a player is debatable. You are, quite frankly, incorrect here. This isn't even close. You'd have more of a case if QQ had just called preflop then bet the AKx flop, but preflop, QQ rates to be WAY the best hand. Why wouldn't you want to isolate against a depserate player with dead money in the pot?

Besides, there are 64 players left. 6 pay. Do you think doubling your own stack or getting to 63 players increases your odds of cashing? It's not close.
