Re: Semi OT: The Power of Imagination

I see where you are getting at. Let me clarify. I was referring to the distinction between internal dialogue and imagery. I'm saying in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy they may instruct you to make...

Semi OT: The Power of Imagination

Based on my limited knowledge in the field it seems to me that modern psychotherapy has placed much focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or using your thoughts to change how you feel.

While I...

Re: 25NL QQ Hand

The problem with checking this flop and the turn is that you let villain take the pot from you on the turn or river.

When you re-raise and check both a king high flop and then the turn when the...

Re: 25NL Failed CBet, Double Barrel?

I would never double barrel without knowing who I'm double barreling against. I'd just give up on the turn.

Re: 25NL QQ Hand

Bet the flop. Re-raising PF and checking the flop is ultra weak. He's calling a lot PF that you beat on this flop.

Its hard to figure out what he has given how you played it and you've showed...

Re: Flopping a boat on a raggy board

Blind battle with a flopped full on a non connected paired board I'd check the flop. On a paired board there only five cards in the deck to make a hand in this case two 5s and 3 Ts and you have two...

Re: AA facing shortstack all-in with one player behind

I bet the turn to $7. To me checking on the turn multi way on a relatively dry board is weak.

If you're going to go for a check raise with AA its better to do it HU if you're pretty sure villain...

Re: AA vs TAG facing river shove

The responses I've been getting from these threads has been truly overwhelming and I obviously need the help. Thanks everyone.

Ok I shall reveal...I called villain turns over pocket twos to make...

Re: AA vs TAG facing river shove

At the time I was thinking pot control, WA/WB scenario so thats why I called.

Re: AA vs TAG facing river shove

Is this an auto bet on the turn?

I checked the turn to make it look like a missed c-bet and induce a bet from a worse hand.

AA vs TAG facing river shove

Villain is 15/10 after a few hundred hands. He is either bluffing or has a monster, but am I ahead here enough to call?

25NL Top Two on 4 to Straight Board

Villain was 52/12/2 after 83 hands.

Would this be a good time for a block bet on the river? This is a play a rarely use and I'm looking for good opportunities use them.

Ultimate Bet - No...

25NL 99 vs Shortstack Facing Flop Min Raise

Villain 36/6/2 after a few hundred hands

Not really sure if I'm ahead enough of the time here to call. These min-raises confuse me. I could see this with over cards, TT+ flush draw, or trips. I...

Re: wrong line/bad beat good line? AQo

Bet the flop. $1 seems right.

As played I bet $1 on the turn. With a bet like .7 you are giving him odds to outdraw draw you.

Reads are helpful for the river. $.4 is a really weak bet and you...

Re: Difficult decision?

Definitely raise more pre-flop. 4x BB + each limp is the standard mantra so raise to $1.5.

A read helps, but I've seen players make this moves with draws or a hand like JT or J8. I'd call.

Re: 25$ NL : flush board vs pocket 10s

I agree with manchild. Also, don't automatically assume he is on tilt from a bad beat unless of course obscenities are popping up in the chat window or his play since the bad beat is noticeably...

Re: 25 NL - Flopped straight and draw to flush

I'd raise it PF. As you said they are calling stations so you want to keep value betting . I think you played it fine.

Re: 25NL 98s Flopped Straight on Monotone Board

[ QUOTE ]

You're not raising the flop to see where you're at. Get that notion out of your head right now. It will lose you money. When you flop a straight, you're raising for value against worse...

25NL 98s Flopped Straight on Monotone Board

BB was a solid player: 22/12 after 200 hands. The fact that he didn't push on the flop me made me think he had to have flopped a flush. He would have raised TT+, AK so that narrows his range. I'm...
