Dealing with flop donkers

By flop donker, I mean a player who bets most flops, OOP, without initiative. For example:

You open raise with:

and only the BB...

Re: Greater EV with passive play and flopped set?

Oink...you are making a lot of assumptions. I do not necessarily think I played the hand optimally. I simply took a non-standard line (my intention the whole way was to raise somwhere....but, I...

Re: Greater EV with passive play and flopped set?

When did I ever say "NEVER" raise a set? I raise this flop (or the turn) against most opponents.

Re: Greater EV with passive play and flopped set?

What big hand does he have? This guy is very passive and will just call down with top pair...waiting to the river to raise will get more. I didn't raise the river, because I was all but certain...

Re: TPTK vs unknown.

Yeah, it's not my standard line, but I've been playing around with it and like the results.

Re: TPTK vs unknown.

Does anyone ever just call this flop? I've been trying this line against certain types of players and I like it. Often times, the villian either has a monster or a hand he would have folded to...

Re: Bad Turn Bluff Raise?

I used to CR in these spots often, but have sinced stopped when up against a TAG. They typically know what you are doing and will use their positional advantage to counter (such as here).

I...

Re: TT in the BB

c/c, c/c is the only way to play it against standard villain, possibly folding to a river A.

[/ QUOTE ]
Really...the ONLY way to play it? If I'm the villian, I will be able to get to...

Also, I can find value in just calling with AA and calling flop, calling turn, and calling/raising river (depending on board/opponent).

Re: Who is better in the longrun?

[ QUOTE ]
I know these are tiny samples, but if you had a gun to your head and had to make a prediction of who was the better longrun poker player, which would it be?

Player A.............4.3k...

Re: JJ turn again

[ QUOTE ]
I absolutely think we should call turn since the pot is big and we close the action. If we don't hit a heart or jack on river we fold there instead. I can't see who we can be sure enough...

Re: overpair, drawy board against a good player

Lead turn....don't give the free card. If he has a set or straight....oh well, call down.

Given that he checked the turn....check the river to induce a bluff from busted straight draw or save 1BB...

I bet this turn. I want to know where I stand and by checking...I won't really know what a bet means. Is he bluffing? Did he slowplay a monster? Also, I don't want to give a...

Re: ATo - dealing with the donker

I like just calling the flop donk bet in this spot. Since I sometimes just call the flop with a monster...my call could mean AK. If he bets the turn...I call again. If he fires another barrel,...

Re: 75o Blind defense - spew or no spew?

No spew. Flop raise is pretty standard then you got stuck. You picked up a nice draw on the turn and cannot fold. On the river, I typically just call.

Re: KQo: Peeling without a Plan

Yes, if you have 6 outs...then I would agree with you. However, how many times will you hit one of your overcards and still lose (e.g. villian has A4, K7s, Q7s, etc or even A7 and hits an ace or 7...

Raise preflop...I don't understand the limp. Given that you limped...I guess I play it the same way. Sometimes I will CR the flop and lead turn. If I face any more resistance (turn raise or river...

Re: KQo: Peeling without a Plan

I think any option here is close.....fold, call, raise.

I probably just fold here and move on. This player looks very passive and he's betting into strength (preflop raise). He could have a...
