Re: AQ on dangerous board

I fold with or without a read. Even though a set is unlikely QT isn't. And JJ isn't a distant possibility. You can call if you know that villain has KJ but not AJ. I think it's a clear fold.

Re: Live: 88 in MP vs. very passive table, I get c/r\'ed AI on flop

I'd call with the 8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif and fold otherwise. I think getting 2-1 with only one reasonable draw out there against a guy who is passive isn't worth it.

Re: TP + FD. How should i play this flop? (100NL)

I don't see anything wrong with it except your preflop play, which I doubt is eggregious.

Villain has $76 behind and the flop is $36. A smaller raise just ties him in. Your playing for stacks...

NL newbie $1/2

Villain was 35/35/2.5 after 30 hands. A few hands earlier, villain open raised $7 and I bet $21. He called and check/folded to my $20 flop bet. My reraise to $12 was to try to mix it up and keep...

Taxes and the FPP store

Re: ***Official FTP Regs Thread***

frozendeck probably gets most of his numbers from defending the blinds religiously and stealing with any Ace and any King from both the CO and button. He probably also does things like 3bets TJs...

I think he also calls down a little light.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's an understatement. The only guy who calls down more than him is orangedust.

Re: ***Official FTP Regs Thread***

Yea, I have seen him overvalue naked aces in a bb and small pairs on broadway flops. But after 10k hands, he is only one of 3 that I have who is a winner. There are 5 others who are near breakeven.

Re: ***Official FTP Regs Thread***

Of 10k hands or more at 5/10 steinway is the only winner whom has any self control. He's about 1 bb/100

Any thoughts on the 3/6ers named "SteadyHands"

[/ QUOTE ]

He only rarely plays 5/10 but I know him well from 3/6. He's really into winning the absolute most when ahead.

So far...

Re: I folded!

[ QUOTE ]
wow, I seriously doubt he's going to fold two broadway cards here even spadeless

[/ QUOTE ]

Drawing to a fairly likely dead gutshot/6 overs in a small pot is a fold in my book. I...

Re: Hands, that frustrate me

I gonna be a douchebag for a minute. There are two ways to look at this:

Mathematically

2-1 that he has a spade draw, an out-of-left field six, or that one of your draws will come in.

8-1...

Re: To be (t) or not to be (t)

Please explain why you cold called preflop. I see a lot of guys with TAG stats cold call routine. I want to know what they are thinking.

Re: Raise the turn and fold to a 3bet???

[ QUOTE ]
When I read the title I knew my answer would be no. I would play this passively as well, assuming I'm WA/WB. Just be careful and don't let the good player try and push you out of this pot...

Button is LAG but nothing observed that's our of the ordinary. Assume he could but not always 3bet with a good draw and only very rarely with AK. How does your play change if button is LPP? UTG is...

Re: Am I playing too scared?

I don't mind it. Board is super uncoordinated so there's no need to risk scaring out the third party. Even if you weren't necessarily thinking about that it's not a terrible play. You have to be...

Re: AKs turn/ river play

Just because a guy is tight doesn't mean he won't cold call A4s or K4s. A4s is even standard for most TAGs. However, he still probably has a Ten but after 160 hands you don't know how he plays...

Re: Middle pairs vs. tight players.

I play to see a SD. An ace complicates things greatly but not that King.

Raise/folding the turn is okay but know your opponent.

Re: Blind defense check up

The last time I was in this situation, I called. Then I berated myself for not knowing that when a King flops, a much larger % of his stealing range has hit and therefore should have folded the...

so what's with the isolation? It sounds to me that villain will peel nearly every flop and chase every draw to the river. JTs doesn't do well HU against those types. Throw in an occassional donk...

Re: Checking the turn in position

In hand one, betting has to have some merit. Weak Ace high hands will often fold and worse hands don't have the opportunity of bluffing the river. This is why I have been betting the turn here.
