Re: Have I just run lucky at $1 $2 cash games?

[ QUOTE ]
... Because the money is higher I play much tighter and am prepared to lay down more top pairs/two pair hands. At lower levels I was finding myself calling a raise just to see if I got...

Re: Best strategy for short blind tournamant structure

1. Giant wall of text is not fun to read.

2. Convince the guy running the tournament to increase the blinds every 30 minutes, with 10 minute blinds in a MTT format, there's a lot of luck...

Re: Bored

Glad you have a good idea for it. I actually meant to say "But they were suited". Only reason I thought of it was because we had a guy the other day was hitting like crazy with suited cards.

Re: Small Blind, You\'re In Anyways...

[ QUOTE ]
I just read Harrington II and according to his section on heads up, you should always complete in the small blind with any two cards. He says to do so in heads up, but his argument is that...

Re: jj short handed

I'd probably shove here, no one is showing any strength, so you probably have the best hand here. You have to raise anyway, you don't want a weak ace hitting the flop, and there's enough in the pot...

Re: Always starting out behind...

I'm guessing you're playing looser in the beginning, and tighter after being down a buyin. If so, tighten up in the beginning.

Re: Home tourny all-in decision

It was three handed, you were first to act preflop, and with KQs, you should have raised.

Re: Home tourny all-in decision

3 handed, you should have raised to $3k preflop with that hand.

Anyway, preflop, there's 12K in the pot. You have $12K left, SB has $5K, BB has $21K.

Flop gives you two overs, plus the flush....

Re: Player really can\'t afford to play

It's your home game, you can play it any way you want.

If you really want to help him, how about you and the other good player talk about strategy during the game. This way:

1. You'll let him...

Re: donkey players

You failed to mention a few things, like what position you were in, what position he was in, what his stack was, cash game vs. tournament, how many players, etc.

Small pocket pair vs two overcards...

Re: Player really can\'t afford to play

He's a grown man, you don't have to protect him from himself. It's not your problem that he's a donk and losing his money.

Don't tap the glass, and rake in the dough.

Re: Middle Set

Raising medium PP UTG isn't a good play normally that early in the tournament, with an M of 20. You're out of position, and opening yourself to a re-raise. Anyone that smooth calls you probably has...

Re: Tell The Truth About Your Hand

Yes, but if everything must be lie, then by simple logic, the opposite of what is said must be the truth, which renders such a rule meaningless.

I understand that they don't want people colluding,...

Re: How could I of played this hand better?

Other than pushing all in when you got re-raised, I think you played it fine. You had the best hand preflop, and were out of position, so you had to bet out to see where you stood. Just bad luck he...

Re: IS THIS A BAD CALL?

Assuming that there's 8 people at the table, there's 1500 in the pot at the start of the betting, which gives you an M of about 2.6 So you should be pushing your pocket 7's, esp. considering the two...
