Re: KK, should I go all in?

yeah. He might have AQ. The thing is, your $2.61 bet is kind of pathetic, so he could be raising with trash hoping you'd fold because your raise stinks. Your inviting a raise here, so you almost...

Re: Which was worse?

I'm guessing he thinks you might have been drawing to a flush, but with the big bet on the turn, it looks like you've made a straight (but maybe he can't believe you called a $2 bet to make it). So...

what to do with AK pre-flop (general question)?

I have a few questions dealing with AK. It's not my favorite hand. I don't put a lot of weight to it, not like my pocket pairs. But I'm curious how people play AK.

1. Let's say you come out...

Re: I have 2-pair, but he pops me

I say fold. It's a straight. I mean, he won't put any money in with 2 pair with the flush out there, but he raises here? That means he only puts his money in where he is the best at that point in...

Re: why do people min-raise pre-flop?

Aren't you just throwing money away when you don't hit your flush? And nobody is going to give you odds to drawing at that flush draw either. Am I missing something?

Re: why do people min-raise pre-flop?

well yeah, but then I'll see a player I think is decent do it occassionally. Is he trying to convey this newbie style of play to give the wrong impression? To me, it's throwing money away.

why do people min-raise pre-flop?

why do people min-raise pre-flop? I realize it's part of the game, but what's the point? It's so small, that people usually call a lot of min-raises and a lot of people enter the pot. And usually...

Was I bluffed out here? Cbet, then made a straigh with flush on board

Was I bluffed out here? I Cbet, then made a straight on the turn with the flush on board. He put me all-in after I bet strong. I really had no idea what he called with on the flop. Was I beat, or...

JJ. Did I play this right?

Comments on this hand please. My image is very aggressive. Pick up trip QQ's with QQ. Been bullying the table.

Re: QQ hand from awhile back. Need help with these situations

Yeah, knowing the results, I should have folded. He had AA, where one of them was a club.

Since he didn't re-raise me, I thought perhaps he had AK and wanted to see a flop. He was 19/7. Not...

QQ hand from awhile back. Need help with these situations

I find that QQ and JJ are hands to play. I'm ending up against overpairs a lot. Just curious if I played it correctly or not.

Re: Wow.. firing that second bullet really works :)

My bankroll is definately fine for NL50. I did bet it, so I'm not playing that scared. I'd check if I was really scared. While in some situations, I'm sure my reads are good, this time, I had no...

Well, I thought I was doing really well today. Then this hand shows up /images/graemlins/frown.gif I was stealing just before this hand and I can tell my image has been lose. The perfect hand for...

Re: Top pair - re-raise on turn. Good fold or was he just buying it?

So in a situation like this, check the turn instead of betting? The way I see it, would someone really call me with a pair of 5's here? I had no read on this villain at all, and he hadn't played...

Top pair - re-raise on turn. Good fold or was he just buying it?

I got re-raised on the turn when I had top pair. I don't think any sane person would call with just a 5, unless he had Q5. However, I've been really aggressive. Maybe they are starting to stand up...

Re: Wow.. firing that second bullet really works :)

So there isn't a real right or wrong way to value bet the turn? I would like to improve my game and make it as optimal as possible. I'm actually surprised that in 160 hands, I didn't get any real...

Re: Wow.. firing that second bullet really works :)

How much is a good amount to be leading on the turn? Like in general. I usually lead another pot-sized bet. Should it be smaller?

Wow.. firing that second bullet really works :)

Just trying to add more to my game. I was really, really scared to fire this one, but I did it anyway. He really hesitated to call my first bet actually, which let me to believe he had jacks or AA...

Is this call to his re-raise okay just to see the turn?

I put this guy on AK or AA. He can have nothing else. I figured if the turn came a heart, I'd stack him for sure. I knew he was the kind of player that couldn't get away from the hand, despite the...

Re: Did I get played here?

I wouldn't put him on a straight. Who would call a raise with 4-5 or 8-10 here heads up in the blinds? A pocket pair would though, and now I'm guessing he made a set on the flop and is getting...

Re: My lessons learned at NL50

I think the reason I bet $5 was because the pot read $5 and I didn't include his bets. I have to remind myself to do that, because party poker doesn't do that. I'm starting to actually, but I'm...
