grunch,

Call him, outside chance he has trip 6s (given the strength shown on the river)but definitely worth a call.

Re: JJ

Grunch,

I'd bet the flop with a set. Board is a somewhat co-ordinated and there are 5 still in but I'm still betting.

Probably play the turn and river as described.

Re: AQs

Grunch,

In my naivety I'd probably bet post-flop to try and knock him out there and then. Still got a good number of outs with the Qs, As and backdoor flush draw. Although given the limits he'd...

Re: AA (please don\'t kill me) Live; good or late fold?

Grunch,

Is the pot not big enough to justify a call anyway ?

Re: Peer to peer poker

There are quite a few trust issues here, the peers in the peer to peer game have to trust the source of random seeds for shuffles, trust the people that hold the money and trust the person that...

Re: How do you \"study\"?

This is pretty much what I am doing. I find Poker Academy really useful simply because I can think things through at my own pace.

Re: Alternatives to Firepay

Aye 1.9% apparently, I guess it depends how many transactions you were planning on doing this way. Probably cheaper ways out there.

Re: KQo against a LAG

Thanks for the reply, I have a follow up if I may.

Would the value of outs you assigned to the flush draw change if you held 2 diamonds and only one was on the board? i.e. you still need diamonds...

Re: Alternatives to Firepay

I was assuming that you would be able to get a Neteller account but not be able to link your bank account to it and hence not be able to fund or withdraw this way. Neteller allows you to do...

Re: Alternatives to Firepay

Not sure why your sharing a bank account would stop you opening a Neteller account. It might stop you verifying the bank account and make withdrawals and deposits harder if they do only allow one...

Re: AKs - Played it too weak?

It is so easy when someone points it out, gives me something else to add to my "look for" list, thanks.

Re: KQo against a LAG

I think I am starting to understand the concepts of outs but I may be wrong!

On the flop I can see that the remaining 3 Ks and Qs are only worth partial outs because of the A on the board. The...

Re: AKs - Played it too weak?

Grunch,

I think I would have played it the same way. Although after the turn I think the pot odds are close to it being a fold: I can see 6 outs to top pair with the only danger to that coming...

Re: Fold this river, largish pot

I'm new here and pretty much still learning the basics.

I think I'd fold here. My rather basic thinking would be 7,8,9 on the board and the possiblity of TJ, AJ, A7, A8, A9 or maybe AQ seems too...

Latest Sklansky Hand Groupings - which book?

I have both Sklanky's Hold em (1997 Edition) and Hold em Poker for Advanced Players (21st Century Edition) and notice that the Hand Groupings are slightly different.

My question is which is the...
