Re: 5-bet flop 632 w/ AA a good idea?

I am being serious, at least the part of playing 4,5 off preflop for a raise.

As far as getting 4 bet with the aces, sure he "should" fold the aces but he's a donk, and there are plenty of 4-5...

Re: Why does everyone always have AA when I have 97?

You know, I just read this entire thread (15 posts) and I seriously don't know what this is really about. There's so much sarcasm, nastiness and wisecracks that I don't know if this was a real...

Re: 5-bet flop 632 w/ AA a good idea?

What are you doing playing 4,5 offsuit preflop for a raise???

In defense of the other guy, he certainly doesn't expect someone to be playing 4,5 offsuit preflop for a raise. I'd feel pretty solid...

Re: i hate this i quit!

Someone should point out that 1. You were the 2nd lowest chips stack, vunerable to attack. 2. You were out of position and perhaps should not have raised due to the position. 3. You DID raise with...

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/26 - 500k buyin pt 4 - Spoilers all o

I agree that PA is definately one of the best cash game players around and #1 in the current lineup but I think Brad Booth is better. I'm hoping he turns up at some point in this session.

Booth...

Re: Just for the fun of it! (Beats)

Some folks really need to just lighten up. It was simply for entertainment purposes. Constipated? They have medicine for that.

Re: Just for the fun of it! (Beats)

I didn't say biggest beat, I said worst "bad beat"... meaning a hand furthest ahead and not likely to lose being caught by an inferior hand.

Re: Just for the fun of it! (Beats)

Is it really? This happened sometime around 2001 at Foxwoods in CT. I wrote several articles at the time for Poker Digest. This was submitted by me to June Fields, publisher at the time. Without...

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/19 - 500K buyin pt 3 - Spoilers on al

Did Jamie say "I can't lay down Kings"... I didn't hear him say that. If he did, then the river check by Sammy IS horrible. I thought I heard an earlier exchange that had Jamie indicating he may have...

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/19 - 500K buyin pt 3 - Spoilers on al

I'm not convinced Sammy really knew where he was at. AT one point Jamie said "I might have a set" and "I'm trying to be nice to you". I really think Sammy thought that there was a possibility that...

i think the biggest improvement i would like to see in season 5 would be to do away with running it twice. i know this supposedly popular in high stakes cash but i know i and am assuming...

Re: Are the more vocal players weaker?

He doesn't talk much during the hand, ie: speculating. I don't see him giving anything away about his hand. The others I mentioned are always "well, I got a big hand, I can't lay this down" etc.

Re: Are the more vocal players weaker?

I didn't put Daniel in the same group. I think Farha does talk too much but he offsets his bad play by being very aggresive and ragging out a bit more. But on the whole, I think he's a loser on this...

Are the more vocal players weaker?

Obviously, the more you talk during a hand the more chance that you may "give away" info that will hurt you. We have seen this several times, a few with Daniel.

But overall, I think the more vocal...

Spolier alert!

They ended up running it twice and chopping. Jamie had 10,7 with a flop of 7,8,9 and Farha had QQ.

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/19 - 500K buyin pt 3 - Spoilers on al

yeah, another reason I hate the guy! If not for the fact that he's a donk with lots of money, I'll bet there's not one guy in the group that likes Jamie.

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/19 - 500K buyin pt 3 - Spoilers on al

Yes, there's an excuse for not betting, at one point Jamie said "I maight have a set" and "I tried to be nice to you". Sammy knows that Jamie would have said this, and played this that way if he had...

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/19 - 500K buyin pt 3 - Spoilers on al

If that hand had been played silently, I think Farha would have checked the river anyway. If someone had called that much all the way, he might have been afraid that his Aces weren't good anymore.

Re: High Stakes Poker thread (11/19 - 500K buyin pt 3 - Spoilers on al

I think the day will soon come, if this keeps up and more guys try to be like Jamie, that some of the big tourney's are going to rule that there is no talking allowed during hands.
