Re: Omaha in the Bay Area

Thanks, I may check it out this week when I'm in town. (I usually play the Stud/8 game there.)

What I'd really like to see at GC is a 6/12 or higher OE mix. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

The $6...

Re: 2-7 Keeping 87 on first draw out of position

Patting is almost always the right option here.

(1) Can you win the pot more often by drawing than by patting?

You will more often make a worse hand at showdown by drawing than by patting. ...

Re: Badugi questions

Well, let's start with the easy question:

Scenario 3: You hold A2xy, loose player opens, tight player reraises, you have position.

The question is, what will the tight player raise here? His...

Re: Omaha in the Bay Area

I thought the 10/20 Omaha/8 game at Lucky Chances was Thursdays. The Tuesday game was the short-lived return of pot-limit.

(I checked my journal and I'm sure it was Thursdays in the past... but...

Re: Places to play 2-7TD for Europeans?

GamesGrid is no more.

Back when B2B was open to US players it had very little traffic in the ring games (you basically had to sit and hope for somebody to stop by), although you'd get plenty of...

Re: A tough CP 2-7 hand

[ QUOTE ]
I had guessed that

89TJQ Q7652 KK2: 7 + 5.5 + 12 = 24.5 points

might also be a strong candidate. Does that fall in between the two 26 point choices?

KKT92 front
87652 middle
QQJ back

would be my guess- OK middle, somewhat strong back

Spike is correct. Expect to lose about 0.92-0.96 points. But playing QQ22 or...

Re: Bored now. Invent a novel poker variant.

ok here's something I've been throwing around in my head. I call it "Lo-Hi" as opposed to "Hi-Lo"

This is any game where your pool of cards exceeds 5, 7stud, HE, omaha, etc. If it...

Re: Bored now. Invent a novel poker variant.

From a conversation with 2461Badugi, most of the ideas are his:

"Three's a Crowd" stud variant: if three or more people go to showdown, the high hand wins. If two people go to showdown, the low...

The harness track in Columbus (near Forest Lake) expects to start racing in April 2008. The card room can open "after the track's first 50-day live race meet".

From what I can gather, the MN...

Re: 2-7 starting hand... dump the 6 or draw 1?

With both 3456 and 4567, you should dump the 6, even with position (unless you are planning to snow/semisnow after the draw anyway.)

Re: 2-7 KC lowball tips?

*sigh*

I miss the weekly GamesGrid KCL tournament.

IMO the SS1 chapter may be a bit too tight for tournament play and doesn't give a lot of specific advice. You will need to make adjustments...

Re: PLO at Lucky Chances, whats the general opinion right now?

I was disappointed on my last trip that the Thursday 10/20 _limit_ Omaha/8 wasn't running. Hope the brief PLO reintroduction didn't kill it off. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: Badugi Dilemma

So, if you pat he has about 8 outs (maybe 7) in 44 remaining cards, which is odds 4.5 to 1. 18% of the time he makes his hand. Let's say he gets an extra bet out of you every time. (He can't do...

Re: 2-7 Triple Draw - Walk through of a text book hand

It appears to me that Pineapple (or Crazy Pineapple) is an allergic game, but just barely. With 222 to start you can't make quads. You can make a straight flush but it is...
