Re: Common Critical Situation on Flop: To raise or not to raise TPTK?

Why would you say there is no reason to raise here?
You have flopped TPTK on a straight draw board. So your line is just to check-call then here? Wouldn't you want to raise to make it more expensive...

Re: Common Critical Situation on Flop: To raise or not to raise TPTK?

1. I would raise, I want to charge as much I can for the first bettor who might be on a draw with J10 J9 KJ, etc.
There are two others to act also so I would prob. raise the pot maybe a little more...

Re: My AJo hand with a poll (5/10 6max)

I thought the fold was the correct play but you have a good point here that I completely looked over. If you go witht the math, I would call every time

Re: My AJo hand with a poll (5/10 6max)

I like the way you played this hand

What looks like a spectacular flop could have turned into a real money loser. The way Villain checked-called the whole way screams value bet to me. I would put...

Re: 25/50 call an all in with Ace high?

I think math wise this might be a good call depending on what Villain has, but I still think that it would be incorrect to call.

You're correct, I was thinking about too many things at once

Re: 5/10- KK facing 3-bet preflop

In this situation I think this is a easy call. Villain hand range is AA QQ MAYBE JJ if he thinks you have AK AQ. Villain could also have AK, if truly non-profitable player AQ. I think if you just...

Re: 5/10 NL (10 handed)

Flop- 115 pot
885- you bet 80- Villain calls
Turn- 275 pot
Villain checks, you bet 200- This is a tough call. First Villain could be slow-playing an 8 from the flop. He might think that if he...

Re: SH 10-20 AK scary flop

CORRECTION: I forgot it was an Ace high flop. I'd bet exactly the way I described in my first post. In fact if a 4th heart does not fall on the river I'd push instead of betting pot. You have TPTK...

Re: SH 10-20 AK scary flop

I think Lucky is correct in betting 2/3 on the flop. If he calls, fine, if he raises I'd fold. You said he was loose but not very aggressive so I don't see him making a big raise with no hearts, I...

Re: 5/10 NL cash game session at the Borgata with Strassa: Trip Report

Hand #4
I don't understand why you were criticized so much for this play. A tight player raises, you re-raise with AKo. Flop comes A89 rainbow, you bet 400, Villain goes all-in. Hand ranges- AA KK...

Re: 5/10 NL cash game session at the Borgata with Strassa: Trip Report

yes I was incorrect in saying it was an overbet bluff.
I think our flop and turn anyalyses are correct. With what you said about pushing all in, I think Villain would prob. fold to your push on the...

I'm going to do this one hand at a time

Hand #2
Well when the flop comes K85 your read was right. You said that the young tv-type player was calling you down weak and he was only calling you down...

Re: 10/20NL: Nothing, nothing... [censored] it, I\'m all in.

I see this stratdegy all the time online but never seen it playing live in a casino. I would think that it would tilt people even more while playing live- at what limits do you apply this to live?

Re: 10/20NL: Nothing, nothing... [censored] it, I\'m all in.

Is this really what we want to try and do? How much more of a raise on the turn do you want? I don't remember the exacr amounts but Villain bet something like 400-420 on the turn, Hero raises to like...

Re: Borgata 10/25 Hand

good point, some of my biggest lost pots have come from trying to put on a move on unknown players. Something I should try to watch out for.

Re: Borgata 10/25 Hand

what? you could atleast try for consiceness if you can't handle clarity.

you could at least try for some proper spelling as well but thats not the point, back to poker

Re: Borgata 10/25 Hand

I forgot, since you asked, I would not call your push with anything less than the Q of the clubs and I'll tell you why.
You raised $125 preflop, my thinking is, geez, he doesn't have 72o thats for...

Re: Borgata 10/25 Hand

First off I would just like to say that I love your push here. The way this hand was headed I never thought you had a chance to win it. Now that I know that villain had two 10's with no club I...

Re: Here\'s a hand...

You said this guy built his stack up by being a complete donk then what makes you think that betting out representing AK/AA is going to make him lay down AQ? He did call your PF re-raise so he prob....

Is this neccesarily a spot where you want to give a free card on a draw heavy board and hope...

Re: AA hu hand

what did you put villain on that he would raise the BB3x and then call your re-raise. I know you haven't played with him much but calling a re-raise like that, he can't have much that would hit this...

I surely think this is a tough fold but you gotta do it. He might have KJ or K10 and you win but what about 44 22 or 88
He could have gotten lucky, called your pre-flop raise with a King and junk...
