Re: 2-7 Triple Draw - Walk through of a text book hand

Assuming CO was pat on the third draw, this is 100% standard. You can choose to checkraise the second round if you like, but anyone who coldcalls and draws one may not bet if he doesn't improve. ...

Re: 100/200 Ace to Five easy \"I never play this game\" spot

[ QUOTE ]
I'd fold, Aces and deuces are going to be totally dead, so you are drawing at 76 and probably have like 2 outs. Close to a fold after the first draw but its cheap and closing the action so...

Re: Nutty and Non-Nutty Poker Variants

[ QUOTE ]
It seems that a game which requires you to play more than one of your original cards will be allergic. Can you invent a variant which breaks this rule, or is it a sufficient condition?

Re: Razz question

All lowball hands are read from top to bottom. 75432 is lower than 76421.

Re: 267 on the button...

[ QUOTE ]
In theory it almost makes more sense to 3 bet your weaker 3 card hands like 238 trying to force HU action and just call with 234 type hands.. I've always felt this way but never practiced...

I just about always call here, no huge benefits to 3 betting but thats not terrible either.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. Generally I'm pretty happy to play 2x7 multiway with position.

Re: NoCal Single-Draw Lowball: Rough Pat Nine OOP.

Once you decide to play it, this is the only way. Presuming you didn't kill I think it's a fold, though. Zadeh suggests opening any nine UTG in a tight game, but I think I'd want to be more...

Re: check raise w/ a wheel/#2/#3 after 3rd draw

Checkraising is fun and should make money, but the important thing isn't the value. It's all the OOP free showdowns you get later.

Re: Stud8 - several hands from a $22 MTT. Way too nitty?

First three are fine. Hand 4, if the tournament situation makes you scared to play this aggressively, you shouldn't be playing it at all. But you're on the bubble against two players who have...

Re: whining about FTOPS Razz -

The last three FTOPS didn't have Razz events at all. So I'm just glad they haven't done away with them forever.

Also, Hi/Lo for the first time is nice.

Re: moving up limits or multi-tabling

There's a big VPP/hand jump at 5/10 that would swing me in favor of moving up, I think.

I've been playing three tables of hi/lo recently without much difficulty keeping track of upcards etc.

But tables fill up quickly enough usually where I just don't think of this as being that sick since you just won't get that many 3-player hands for it to make much of a difference.

Re: Tough spot #2

I might be OK with playing this if button is aggro enough to be raising 46 or something, and you were playing 15/30. In any other game I think it just has to be a fold.
