Re: Live 6/12: 56s Catches a little piece

back door straigh as a full out??? I think this is very loose imo. Also recheck the math, even if you don't chop and no one redraws with a flush runner-runner straight does not quite make a full out....

Re: Rake & edge

Sorry forgot. I play $3-$6. Still....

In this B&M they have a night club (inside the casino) right next to the poker room...The NL games are filled with "just got out of the club metro spiked up...

Re: Rake & edge

It is $4 ($3 + jp $1). The players are bad too, but can lay down middle pairs for 1 raise. Will not chase if it is 2 BB cold to them on the turn. Can read the board well etc.
These new guys (see...

Rake & edge

With my roll on life support after an atrocious run of cards 2 weeks ago, I left my regular headquarters & visited another B&M nearby. I quickly discover the players here are FAR worse than my...

Re: Small Stakes Hold\'em (Skalnsky, Miller & co)

Guys keep in mind it is not that binary. Remember what DS said in Th.of Poker: Against loose players make your MADE HAND requirements looser, but tighten up on your bluffs. The other way around for...

Re: AA, KK VS 5-6 Suited

AA & KK do well in both shorthanded and multi-way pots. 56s needs a cheap multi-way pot to be profitable. Multi-way action adds variance to AA&KK performance but expectation as well. I will take 40%...

Re: Mason\'s win rates

I've been thinking about this. Say I drag down 1-2 pots/hr on average. That costs me 0.66-1.33 BB/hr in rake alone and
0.8333-1.6666 BB/hr with tips. Add that to my win rate...and I am ready for a...

Re: Mason\'s win rates

Ok to be exact:

3-6 Game: Ave:0.66BB/hr Good:1.33BB/hr Great: 2BB/hr

Is this a good estimate even after the rake+ tips are included? So unless I am getting 1.33+ I still belong in 3-6? ...

Re: Mason\'s win rates

Yes that is exactly what I was referring to. 1.5BB-2BB/hr was the good-great player ballpark. I will double-check tonight.

Re: 9 handed, flop bottom set. What the hell do I do?

Kit so have things changed since the books were written? What is the answer to the question above?

Re: 9 handed, flop bottom set. What the hell do I do?

Could you explain why this is dumb? I would really like to understand what was silly about this statement so I can adjust my views of the game. Thanks in advance.
I based this on a small stakes...

Mason\'s win rates

As many of you know Mason M. makes predictions on how many BB/hr an average/good/great player should make at different limits. (for LHE and stud)
Do any of you know if those predictions account for...

Re: Who is it going to be????

He plays many hands. That is why it seems he is luckier.(the more chances to get lucky the more instances thereof) But hell if his postflop skill is up there, why not give up some pre-flop edge?

Re: 9 handed, flop bottom set. What the hell do I do?

He is laying you like 1-7 excluding the implied cold calls +river payoffs if you hit. I would say this is an easy cold call.
(Mr. Deranged see the correction above. You may want a free card if...

Re: 9 handed, flop bottom set. What the hell do I do?

Sorry I ment free card. You would have to be very sure you're up against a 78 to take it on the turn though. I agree with the showdown point. The villain could very well be overplaying A6 or 56s....

Re: Live Tells

Suit check tell works like a charm for me. As soon as I see the entire field suit checking, I already know the turn card put 3 to a flush before even looking at it. The best part if when a river is a...

Re: 9 handed, flop bottom set. What the hell do I do?

Call and raise on the turn (assuming the turn is a blank). They talk about it in the 2+2 SSHE book. A cap here won't protect your hand vs. flush/std you'd be laying 1-10.5 to the field. If you call...

Re: a turn 3bet for your dissection

I think your 3-bet is good if this guy is as LAG as you say. I think a LAG (maniac range) would have re-raised you pre-flop with Axo (I have seen several over my time and if this guy is in that...

Re: Hourly Win Rates

I am a 3-6er. I am nearing 125 hr mark and only looking at 0.375 bb/hr. Am I a little slow or this is normal? I have read 15 books (2+2 mostly) at this point and studied at least 3 of them deeply...
