Re: I am seriously reconsidering my recent D& B book preorder.

I ordered this book. If it is a good book it will be worth the wait. If they save money by printing it in one place or another, more power to them.

Re: WCOOP main event sensation - winner under investigation

I just read the post from the guy who wants Stars to give the cheaters their rake back.

Stars should take all money totally from cheaters. Is this less than obvious ? The real question is what...

Re: Most over-rated poker book of all time?

Sklansky is probably the most UNDERRATED poker author. I've always thought that the reason he started writing books with co-authors was just because he was busy with other stuff.

His ideas of...

Re: Most over-rated poker book of all time?

Supersystem I was really pretty good considering what was out there when it came out. Supersystem II has some excellent chapters, so I wouldn't put it on this list.

But you're asking about...

Re: Professional No-Limit Hold \'em Volume 1 Review Thread

For the record I have made no assertion that either you personally or Two plus Two had anything to do with the Amazon "reviews." I'm very confident that you didn't. Maybe they bothered you much as...

Re: Professional No-Limit Hold \'em Volume 1 Review Thread

Thank you for your comments Mason. I am sorry if anything that I said appeared to be disparaging to you or two plus two.

You are preeminent in poker publishing. There really isn't anyone in a...

Re: Professional No-Limit Hold \'em Volume 1 Review Thread

Mason,

Your points are all well taken, and I agree with them. As I have stated in at least a couple of prior posts (some of which are unrelated to PNL), a great number of your books are...

Re: Professional No-Limit Hold \'em Volume 1 Review Thread

Matt,

1. A book entitled Professional No Limit Holdem, Volume One SHOULD be geared towards professionals. Otherwise the title is, obviously, a tad misleading. I don't think it's fair to expect...

This is a true story.

The online rake for heads up play is unbelievable. I tried playing $5/$10 heads up, and my opponent and I both made default buyins of $100. I got stuck, rebought twice, played on for about an hour...

Re: Some top players dislike NLHTAP: Why?

Re: Some top players dislike NLHTAP: Why?

FWIW, I thought No Limit Holdem Theory and Practice was the worst poker book I had ever read.

But then I came across Professional No Limit Holdem, Volume One.

Gotta love the titles though. I...

Re: Professional No-Limit Hold \'em Volume 1 Review Thread

I finally went out and bought this book. It is absolutely terrible. God awful. Shocking.

I confess that I did not read the whole book. I just couldn't continue. Fortunately, I bought the book...

Re: Very simple 10/20 2-7

Re: 100/200 SH AA hand with nut low draw, delaying the raise until turn

This is a limit 08 hand right? The pot numbers in parenthesis make it appear that way...

Assuming it is limit, I think OP's initial analysis is correct, as is the way he played the hand. The...

Re: Poker in Korea

I have played there. They had what amounts to a $5/10 No Limit Holdem game the day I played.

By law, no Koreans are allowed to play in the game. 80% of the players were Korean North Americans....
