Re: Lets talk about small pairs OOP as a shorty

There is no way that limping small pairs utg with 10 bb is ev neutral or ev positive. Late in the tourney everyone is blind stealing and you're going to see a raise or a push behind you too much of...

Re: Standard or bad call PreF/Flop?

These spots are very read/image dependent. This is a decent spot for pushing preflop to isolate the short stack. I would pretty much never flat call, because you're entirely too short to be playing a...

Re: Call overbet push on flop with overpair? $50

You need to bet more on the flop and then you have to go to the felt with it, because the board is so draw heavy. You've got backdoor flush and straight draws too. You're 33% to win against two pair...

Re: $6 buyin micro MTT, 331 entries, 4 players left, A6 os, first to a

Is that really a fold given the antes/blinds 4 handed? I've gotta believe that pushing is fine.

Re: Pocket 7s flopped a set

There is absolutely nothing wrong with pushing 77 from the button with 13bb. You pick up the blinds and prevent someone from re-stealing with hands that are flips. You're too short to raise and fold...

Re: 40$ Freezout, AK, top pair on dry board, checkraised on flop

The call is trivial. With 16bb you're never folding top pair.
You played fine. Alternate lines would be to push preflop, or to push the flop, or to check the flop to induce a bet from villain. ...

Re: 10s in CO facing raise/cold call

Raise to 250. UTG's range is likely huge because min-raising anything at these blind/stack sizes is evidence of absolutely no understanding of poker theory. TT doesn't play well multi-way and...

Re: Live Tournament Hand - 66 flopping undercards and open ender

I'd call and re-evaluate on the turn. You're never folding out an over pair on that board and that makes up much of villains range. If you hit your straight or set you'll almost always double...

Re: Wait for a better spot?

Generally speaking, any time you're getting 2:1 or better on calling a short stack push from the BB you can pretty much call without bothering looking at your cards. Unless you've got bubble/pay out...

Re: A8o in BB

If villain's range is any pair or any T you've got like 18% equity. You can't really come up with a reasonable range where you're much more than that.

Re: WSOP sat hand vs sheets

I think if you bet-call the turn you have to call the 1/2 pot bet on the river. Villain has a set, a really strong draw, or like missed overs on the turn and nobody is putting you on a hand as strong...

Re: Is this a good spot to push?

Kyer, putting utg on TT,JJ,AQ,AK and excluding QQ-AA because it's a 4xbb raise is absolutely rediculous. When blinds are low you fully expect for players to raise premium hands 4-5xbb or even more...

Re: KQs UTG+1 level 2 stuper

I generally just open limp here, hoping for a limp fest, and a chance for a cheap flop. Opening for 90 is fine of course too.

Re: AJ vs. loose big stack

The min-raise is retarded because it invites villain to call and the more he has in the pot, the less likely he is to fold to your flop push which is absolutely a necessity given your stack size. ...

Re: 70 players $300 buy-in first hand

You're much better calling preflop and playing a pot with position. You likely end up in a way ahead/ way behind kind of situation and call down to maximize winnings while minimizing loses.

Re: 10 10 in MP facing light raise from UTG+1

Nath, why do you prefer calling to re-raising and calling a push or open pushing? It's 8 handed so TT should be well ahead of a decent UTG+1 range and playing post-flop even with position is going...

Re: Lots of outs, how to precede on the turn

I'd shove the turn. You've got outs (queens and tens might even be good) and villain covered. It's a micro and loose villains floats that flop with a ton of hands.

Re: AK facing re-raise w/ awkward stacks

Shove. Folding equity + money already in the pot makes it worth the chance you get called and are flipping. It's not AA/KK enough with villains large bet size and you having AK to worry about the...

Re: Whiffed AKs on wrong monotone flop

You're not shoving 20bb. The average stack yet to act is a little over 16bb and there is an ante.

Re: Whiffed AKs on wrong monotone flop

My default is to shove preflop here. It makes your hand pretty transparent, but so what.

Re: fold AA to scary board against push?

Villain's really tight so his preflop range is like TT+,AK,AQ. He's got a set or like queens with a flush/straight draw on the turn. I think folding the turn is ok.

Preflop is a mess like everyone...

Re: 10/180 TT one overcard opponent checkraises all in

This should be a trivial call. You're getting like 3.75 to 1 pot odds, you invested over half your stack already, and villain has a draw more than enough to make up for the times he's check raising a...

Re: Can you/SHOULD YOU fold it?

I find it really hard to believe that villain's pushing range is AK/66+ with 3.5 bb and he's about to be in the blinds again in a 10 dollar tourney. I'd instant push.

Re: Folded to you in the SB, 20 left

I like an open push as well. If you look at Karlson-Sklansky Rankings K6o is worth 26.6 bb. Although the Karlson-Sklanksy rankings aren't an answer to this same problem your effectively pushing for...

Re: Help me play these monsters better.

Hand 1: You need to bet more on the flop. Bet between like 2/3 and the full pot. You're betting for value and if someone has a decent draw you're making the pot big enough that they might feel...
