Re: Stud8 - (AA)K facing reraise from Q door

[ QUOTE ]
Aces and kings are similar, but aces are better, particularly since they are live and concealed here.

[/ QUOTE ]I didn't mean equitywise, just that knowing that you have kings isn't...

Re: Stud8 - (AA)K facing reraise from Q door

[ QUOTE ]
I don't care if it defines my hand. I have aces and I am representing kings.

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, that's the problem. KK and AA is functionally equivalent here and it's going to make it much...

Re: Stud8 - (AA)K facing reraise from Q door

[ QUOTE ]
I don't see how this is good. The Q is probably raising because the K is dead. I would 3-bet 3rd multiway and as played checkraise 4th. You can't let all those low cards see 5th cheap.

Re: Stud8 - (AA)K facing reraise from Q door

For instance, suppose we're up against the following line up:

Ah Ad Kh 5s Td
Qd Jh Qh 7s 3s
6c 3h 4h 5c Qc
5h 4d 7d 2h Kc

Ie, two lowdraws and one with open-ended straight possibilities. By...

Re: Stud8 - (AA)K facing reraise from Q door

[ QUOTE ]
We've got one pair. Who's to say that someone doesn't have two pair or better?

[/ QUOTE ]Not to be a dick about it, but did you actually read my post?

I explained that getting rid...

Re: watch what the BIG GAME looks like

[ QUOTE ]
Very interesting doc. Had to laugh at how they called what we know today as fish and donkeys, producers and sheep. Somehow I don't think typing "stupid producer" in the chat box would be...

Re: Stud8 - Is this Collusion?

Seat 7 started with (73)4 and hit the Q on the river. Then the site shuffled his cards at showdown and it looked like he started with (Q7)4.

Lots of players don't play a 4-low aggressively. You...

Re: Stud8 - (AA)K facing reraise from Q door

Why not jam 5th street?

Nobody is likely to have a two pair and nobody is freerolling you yet.

For the low draws to do that they'd pretty much would have had to started out with a small pair...

Re: Stud8 - (AA)4 , did I put in the appropriate amount of action here

[ QUOTE ]
Why not just call and invite the Q or T to maybe limp in or raise and take a shot at a second best hand?

[/ QUOTE ]I don't limp any hand here. But if you do, you should definitely limp...

Re: Stud8 - (AA)4 , did I put in the appropriate amount of action here

[ QUOTE ]
You should really just call the raise on 4th. You are giving up a lot of deception value if you will only do this with buried aces or trips on 4th. Against a razz hand you only have 57%...

[ QUOTE ]
FYP. Usually my tactic during O8. /images/graemlins/grin.gif Less hands of that I am tempted by the better.

[/ QUOTE ]That's just severly douchy.

Re: Stud8 - (AA)4 , did I put in the appropriate amount of action here

yea i guess not. i just think that it's highly unlikely he has a straight, so he prob wouldn't reraise us and we cud check behind on riv if we dont improve but bet if we do.

Re: Stud8 - stealing from bring-in

[ QUOTE ]
As I said, my reason for betting was that I thought I could fold out a better hand against some small amount of very weak villains. Maybe this is simply not true, and my reason for betting...

Re: Stud8 - stealing from bring-in

7th this one's close.

[/ QUOTE ]Not really, betting that sort of hand when checked to on the river is terrible.

It would be a bit different out of position, but not much. It has...

Re: Stud8 - Is this Collusion?

Scared of sounding stupid, I have to say I've never seen this play before. Can you explain why this play is actually good for him... So he feels his 2743 is a good enough low draw that he...

Re: Stud8 - Is this Collusion?

[ QUOTE ]
Cooperative betting strategy in a three way pot is an element of good poker, not collusion.

[/ QUOTE ]I think you need to look up the definition of "collusion", because that is it.

Re: Stud hi - flushdraw 3-way, becomes tricky

[ QUOTE ]
I'm not saying he shouldn't raise in this particular case. I'm saying that, under the right circumstances with the right mix of players, he would give away his hand if he raised 4th. Then...

Re: Stud hi - flushdraw 3-way, becomes tricky

[ QUOTE ]
If you are playing in a game with solid players who read hands well, with a raise on 4th you may as well turn your cards face up on the table. You *might* get more deceptive value out of...

Re: Stud hi - flushdraw 3-way, becomes tricky

I don't see a good reason for raising 4th here.

There's two opponents that has put in two bets each. Their fold rate should be very close to...

Re: Stud Question bringing in with a concealed pocket pair

Maybe if villain manage to dodge a lot of the hands he should fold on 5th. But I don't see that happening as big pairs and four-lows never can fold and the small pairs with a 3-low only can fold if...

Re: Stud/8 weird spot
