Re: 2007-2008 NBA MVP

The MVP award is a function of team performance - and it should be. How valuable a player can you be if your team is 30-52? To me, it's an untenable argument to say "this player is the best player in...

Re: Official IwannatalkaboutdaBull 2007/2008 Season Thread

My prescription: Turn Skiles into Jeff Van Gundy (or Larry Brown), turn Gordon and Thomas and 1st rounder and PJ Brown (sign-n-trade) into Gasol after MEM rejects Nocioni/Thomas/1st.

Here's...

I was replying to his comment that LAL > CLE at every position except maybe PG. Not much point in noting the obvious Odom>Gooden.

Hughes hasn't done a thing this year, so not much point mentioning...

How is Nash a traitor? He was a free agent, got an offer from Phoenix, showed it to the Cuban and asked him to match, he refused (at least according to Cuban, I assume he wouldn't lie), Nash signed...

Re: 2007-2008 NBA MVP

Putting up obnoxious bulk numbers does not equal "MPV" - or at least it shouldn't. Cavs have more talent than Lakers, Cavs play in markedly inferior conference, Lakers have better record. Kobe is a...

Re: England out, what now for the FA?

I'd say there's almost no chance that they hire an English manager. (Correct) popular sentiment is that none of them are world-class (and the fans still delude themselves into thinking the English...

Facking godsend for the Lakers. Dumps the $10.5M owed to Cook over the next 3, gets a 1-year $3M Ariza. Step one to shipping Ariza+Kwame+whatever for a quality, overpaid vet....

I'm inclined to agree with Clarkmeister on GGreen. He's athletic, but he's a bad basketball player and a worse basketball brain. The kid is clueless, really. It's hard to stand out for cluelessness...

Way-Too-Early NBA Rookie of Year Predictions

My top 5:

1) Al Horford, ATL
2) Yi Jianlian, MIL
3) Kevin Durant, SEA
4) Sean Williams, NJ
5) Jeff Green, SEA

Horford's averaging nearly a double-double with a steal and two blocks per game...

Re: *Official* 2007-2008 LA Lakers \"the year we missed out on KG\" thre

The more Bynum plays now, the better he'll play later. He can be very, very good - averaging 10/10 right now off the bench. I had forecasted 14/10 w/ 1.5bpg...looks like he's on track. In a year,...

Re: why are we already choosing the nba all-star game?

Fan voting = popularity contest

Popularity doesn't change significantly over the first few months of a season - no reason not to start voting on day 1 and get big vote totals.
