Re: Define Love

Maybe the first time she felt that way for that guy she thought he was "the one." She has since been forced to realize that "the one" doesn't exist. Love is suddenly less special, but she still...

Re: SAT question answer

The reasonable course of action, by definition, must have a higher EV.

The second part of the statement would be justification for not taking the reasonable course of action.

Re: PartyGammon billboards all over Ireland

It's a fun game. I don't think it can have near the success of poker, though. Newbies are going to get torn apart pretty quickly.

Re: Stupid stuff I think about

Yes, something must always come down. If we could live for 2 million years, we've freed up like 70% to dish out to airplanes and cars, since we don't have to worry about dying of old age.

Re: Bad Algebra

Damn, I didn't know if you knew the answer or not. I wouldn't have responded if I knew. I've seen it before. I was taking algebra at the time and had to be told what the problem was.

Re: Does a Thought Exist?

If referees only enforce the rule half the time, it only half-exists (and it only half-exists to anyone who cares). If I played football and decided to rough the passer on every play, my career...

It wasn't very good. I'm not sure if it was horrible. I have six hours in a car ahead of me to think about it. I'll be back /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Re: It is immoral to drink

So a rapist can say that the victim's pain was just a side effect. All he wanted was some pleasurable sex.

I've never had the fun-factor introduced in any discussion about morality. Interesting.

That would be the ratio of bought coins to coins that were gifts. 10/5 or 2/1, which means for every two coins you bought, there is one coin which was given to you. Or for every ten coins you...

Re: It is immoral to drink

If morality existed, then a world where everyone is only concerned with morality would be a good one. It probably wouldn't be fun, but it would be good.

It seems kind of odd to me to think that...

It is immoral to drink

It seems like everyone who believes that morality exists relies on the capacities of humans to determine what is right and wrong. So anything that would impair that ability would be morally wrong,...
