Re: What book should I buy
If you can fit Theory of Poker in there as well, it's very worth it.
I enjoyed Little Blue Book as well. Same stuff as Little Green Book, but a different approach. They complement each other.

Re: What book should I buy
Small Stakes Hold'em is a great book. It focuses on the limit game though. I thought OP was looking for advice on no-limit.

Re: What book should I buy
"Getting Started in Hold'em" is the one you want. It also has a good section on NL play, stressing short stack play (which is simpler than deep stack).

Re: Trip Report: St. Louis Harrah\'s
After as poorly as I played Sunday, you don't want advice from me!
I saw quite a bit of weak-tight, and some "fall in love with top pair" type play. For a while, the table was so tight that almost...

Re: playing scared.
Consider buying in short-stacked at the 2-5 (say your original $200 buyin from 1/2). This will make your decisions easier while you get comfortable with the higher stakes. Check out "Getting Started...

Trip Report: St. Louis Harrah\'s
I was in St. Louis over this past weekend. Thanks to some suggestions from 2+2ers, I poked my head into Harrah's on Sunday.
I arrived at Harrah's just before noon on Sunday. I don't know if this...

More to the point, how do you adjust. I know he is raising with any two random cards, and that I alway have position on him. So what does that do to my range of hands for calling/raising?
In the...

Fighting hyper-agro to your right?
Last night I was playing one of Star's $4 180's.
Now normally, when we get near the bubble, I tend to start a lot of stealing attempts, etc. Sometimes it's worked, sometimes I run into a trouble....

Re: St. Louis: Harrah\'s or Ameristar
And...Harrah's is 'technically' in Maryland Heights. They're both just west of I-270, on I-70. On opposite sides of the Blanchette Bridge. Both on the Mo. River. Both 9-10mi. from Lambert.
So...

Re: Calling 2:1 Pre-Flop
Just be careful about those TV remarks. Most of the time, that is a very specific situation: Late in a tournament with a very high blind/ante related to stacks.
Although, here, AKQ's link is an...

Re: Credit, Debit & Giftcards
From reports, Gift2Go appears to work well most places. (Can't find them near me so I don't know)
I've seen "All Access" visa prepaid cards. Do these work anywhere? I'm afraid to try.

Re: Preflop hand values - Some thoughts please
Yup...couldn't agree more. I just wanted to point out that it isn't like HEPFAP or SSHE where you can get started on PF play by just looking at a chart of hands, and doing what it recommends.

Re: NL50: AA overs, villain goes a.i. on Flop
I don't know. I'm also not used to short handed. I play full tables. So I might just not be used to short-handed aggression.
You're right, those should be possible hands PF. Which could change my...
