Re: Gambling on the Presidential Primaries

I think your blog is going to have a hard time improving on this (http://specials.slate.com/futures/2008/) long running piece.

Re: dumb question for you UB vets now on Stars

I think it's hard to overrate snowing. This is more true on Stars than it ever was on UB.

Re: Drawing rough in a big pot

You don't have the odds if you actually need a 7 to win, but you probably don't need a 7 to win. I think a 96 is going to win here 1/4 the time.

Re: Drawing rough in a big pot

Calling with a one card draw turns your hand over.

Re: Drawing rough in a big pot

This is really automatic. What are you considering doing differently?

I guess there's some non-zero chance you could win with jack high, but it's not going to happen nearly often enough. Folding...

Re: WCOOP TD2-7

Luckily, I went out before the bubble. So, my SN is safe.

I have been told that I don't play enough for people to recognize my screen name. *shrug* It's a good problem to have.

I think...

Re: WCOOP TD2-7

I'm still in, but I'm currently enjoying that no one recognizes my Stars screen name as a TD specialist.

Re: Please can I just win one hand 10/20 2-7

[ QUOTE ]
That's pretty much IWTB, DD and maybe you. My gut is telling me 2641Badugi wouldn't. I wouldn't only because I don't like spewing trying to find out. And as far as anyone exploiting me,...

Re: Very simple 10/20 2-7

This is such a standard call for me against most players.

That being said, I seem to cold call in this spot with pretty much all two card draws. So, if people are 3-betting their good hands...

Re: low stakes limit 2-7TD: play from the blinds

That is really well reasoned.

I had not thought about it that way, but I can't find anything to disagree with. I guess I'm not used to playing against tough players.

Re: low stakes limit 2-7TD: play from the blinds

What makes it different for a solidly aggressive player here? Is it your limited snowing ability or their ability to extract value with 7's?

My guess is that a solidly aggressive player is...

Re: low stakes limit 2-7TD: play from the blinds

If the button has 853 and the BB has 237, I would rather be the button. Your opponents would have to be regularly raising hands like 38KKK before you would think about three betting 234xx and 237xx....

Re: Triple Draw, Most marginal drawing decision

My thought is that you can snow as long as you draw two or less on the opening round. When you're drawing three, you pretty much commit yourself to going to showdown.

Right now, I'm winning so...

Triple Draw, Most marginal drawing decision

What do you do with 22259? I've had this hand a couple times in the last few days and I honestly could never decide an obviously best move. Opening from the cutoff, I set up a snow. Defending the...

18.) So you're asking if 2347 is more profitable putting 1/6th of the money in the pot or 1/2. Really? We need pencil and paper?

Resorts East Chicago - 30/60 HOSE?

I was checking out the poker wiki and saw that it mentions that 30/60 HOSE is spread at Resorts "occasionally". Does anyone here know how often this actually runs?

I'm skeptical since this is...

Re: Question ! -- Sequence of Games in Mixed Games.

The fact that good games have waitings lists pretty much eliminates any significant advantage of doing a hit and run for your best games in the mix.

I think this could be solved easily by just not...

This does seem pretty awesome.

Do you keep the jack high badugi or try to improve your 2-7 hand, etc.

I may be a nit, but I'd really prefer it if you didn't call specific people out for being bad. I mean, the 5/10 has maybe 10 regulars.

Sure, some of these guys are overly loose or overly tight...

Re: 200/400 Badugi hand

Right, I just don't see how getting John (with 4 outs) to fold is really buying that much equity.

I guess there is the case where John has 5 outs with A23. So, you're going to pick up a little...
