Jackson Rancheria is closest. Santa Barabara also has 18+. Nothing in the immediate Bay Area though.

Re: NL50 - having trouble in a standard spot

[ QUOTE ]
Why are you raising this hand UTG?

[/ QUOTE ]

Your raise ends up with an spr of about 12, which is the worst spot for 1-pair hands for this precise reason. Either limp here, raise...

Re: bottom two facing push

That is a gross overbet, which means that it's 99% likely he doesn't want you to call. Think about it -- would he do that with a set? A straight? I don't think so, especially because he has no idea...

Re: Stars 20/180 TP vs Turn Min-Raise...What the...???

I think it's pretty safe to say you're beat here. I think he has at least two pair, the only question is whether it was AK or if the 4 helped him.

Some donks like to bet min with big hands, to get...

Re: Pocket 2\'s, set on flop, boat on turn, somewhat slow play

Don't be results oriented. You're thinking about how to get this in every time, not how to get away from it. Villian probably plays this the same way with trips as he would a boat, anyway.

I'm a communication major, but that's only because my school doesn't have a journalism major. Apart from the journalism classes, the comm department classes are pretty easy.

Re: QQ on K high board

He bet 150 into a 975 pot...this doesn't look like a value bet with a K, it looks like a stupid "I missed my hand so I have to bet or I lose" blocking/bluff bet from a donk. That or a draw. Reads...

Re: $16 Stars: AQ after suspicious limp from solid player

Or he has a suited connector and just wants to see a cheap flop. This is read dependent, but there are plenty of people who don't understand stack sizing and still will limp w/ 10bb when that 76s...

Re: NL10 - QQ faces A on turn

Raise flop, as played, fold river. He likely has either a 10 or an A, both of which have you beat. The only hand you beat is a busted club draw.

Re: NL 50 KK pot control or valuebet

Did the small blind check then?

Value betting is fine, but you could also check to induce a bluff on the river for pot control. He could have 66-99 and thought your flop bet was missed overcards,...

Re: ($12t) Misplayed QQ

I'd expect to see JJ-99 a lot of the time here. Villian called the reraise, but didn't push, which likely rules out AA-QQ, AK.

My guess is the Ace scared him too, and he pushed after you checked...
